Chillwave

It’s been almost a year since my last post and while not completely sure where the year has gone i can safely assure you that much has happened to everyone both individually and collectively. 2010 has been a whirlwind year of insanity and personal development in the steps toward whatever direction we are planning on moving in within this strange new decade. My latest mixtape includes mostly new releases from emerging artists in the glo-fi/chillwave genres (whatever that means to you) that are becoming wide spread and popular amoung the discerning listener and indie connoisseurs of the world. Lightly strewn together are various incarnations of the internet genre that show how loose the term CHILLWAVE can be, encompassing all sorts of elements from obscure space disco, hyper dub, and dream punk to cosmic pop, nu-wave, and especially lo fi indie rock. The genre is a micro revolution of a generation of producers and artists that embody the slight carelessness and indifference of their cultural upbringing. With that being said i have shown a certain degree of carelessness as well in how the transitions are arranged and organized, a step back from the polished and glittering mixes others would jerk themselves off with. Instead i think the degree of trashiness suits it well and adds to the ambiance created by the melodic chaos. Enjoy.
